Frances Idowu leads the firm’s litigation communications practice. She advises clients and their lawyers on disputes, investigations and regulatory proceedings that are, or may become, public: what can be said, by whom, and when, and how it will read in a judgment two years later.
She qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and spent six years in the litigation department of a City firm before moving into litigation communications in 2009. She joined Halden Rook in 2012 and became a partner in 2017. In 2022 the practice she leads was named litigation communications team of the year.
Her clients include heritage and cultural institutions, technology companies and professional-services firms, several of them outside the United Kingdom. She is known inside the firm for the shortest drafts and the longest comments.
She is a visiting lecturer on a postgraduate course in media law and speaks French.
